HealthConnections: What's the Latest with the Senate Health Coverage Bill?

In the second installment of HealthConnections, public health policy expert Dr. Carole Myers tells WUOT's Brandon Hollingsworth about the U.S. Senate's vision for the future of health coverage: The Better Care Reconciliation Act.

The BCRA is different than the American Health Care Act (AHCA) that dominated headlines early this year and passed the U.S. House in May. It was drafted behind closed doors by a group of thirteen Senators and drew criticism from both sides of the aisle after it was unveiled in late June. The backlash prompted Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to delay a vote on the BCRA until after the Independence Day recess.

During this lull, Dr. Myers fills you in on what the bill contains, who is most likely to be affected, and how the BCRA could impose a greater strain on states - including Tennessee.
